Free of what?

 Free of every other ideology,  doctrine, dogma, or opinions of men! 

 Jesus did not say the truth will 'set' you free. 

 He said the truth will 'make' you free. 

 The truth will make you free whether you want it or not. 

 That is why David said in the Psalms,

"....he maketh me to lie down in green pastures...." 

Once TRUTH is revealed to you, you must accept it or reject it...

 the decision and the choice is yours and yours alone...

Repentance comes from the Hebrew word 'shuva' which means to turn around and come back to your God.

"And the time of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent."   Acts 17:30

Baptism comes from the Greek word which means to be whelmed in or covered over, hence immersion is the Biblical mode for water baptism.

"And Peter said unto them "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,....."  Acts 2:38

 

 

"...only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."  Acts 8:16

"And he (Peter) commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord."  Acts 10:48

"When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."  Acts 19:5

Note: Without exception the New Testament church baptized by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Church fathers early in church history changed the formula for baptism from in the Name of Jesus Christ to a triune formula developed by the traditions of men rather than the Word of God.
