Greetings in Jesus' wonderful name.

The "Taiwan National Conference-2000" is now history.  However, in some ways, it is just beginning.  This is the first time we have given our conference an evangelistic, city-wide thrust and Brother and Sister Richardson, Brother and Sister Chen, and my wife and I are thrilled about it!  We feel the Lord has granted such a large measure of spiritual success that we are calling it a "turning point" in our work.

International Evangelist, Lee Stoneking, was mightily used of God while preaching in the evening evangelistic services and also taught two dynamic day sessions.  Theron Smith, of Sumpter, SC, taught a powerful seminar session on Monday morning.  Missionary Richard Lucas, of Tokyo, Japan, Samuel Ma and John Chan, from Hong Kong, PRC, were a great inspiration as they ministered to a group of 80 on the dynamic principals of presenting Jesus Christ to the world.  Missionary Jerry Burns blessed the conference with anointed singing each night and Missionary David Doan helped in the Monday night service.

The peak crowd was on Sunday night with between 250 and 300 in attendance.  The day seminars were well attended also.  Brother Stoneking taught a special session on "Spiritual Leadership" which was attended by 28 preachers and leaders.  There were 15 confirmed to have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.  However, in the Monday evening service, the Spirit moved in such an overwhelming way that there was no way to get a count.  We are just thankful for all the Lord did.

I want to mention here that it was a special blessing and strength to us to have the support of many missionaries, pastors and saints in Asia.  The pastors from Hong Kong brought a total of 17 to the conference.  Others who could not attend joined with us in prayer and fasting.  Some of the countries who joined us in a network of intercessory prayer were: Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.  We certainly felt the under girding strength of prayer.

We intend to build on this.  Plans are already being made for next year's conference in January of 2001.  It will be called:        TURNING POINT!

Thank you for your prayers.  We wish you could have been here.

Yours in Christ Jesus,
Tom Bracken

National Superintendent

A light moment in translation difficulties

Bro Bracken did a most excellent job!

Some things in English cannot be directly translated into Chinese.

For example, there are no 'play on words' in the Chinese language.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

This was a glorious experience and the Blessings of the Lord were simply 'outstanding' in every way.  There was such demonstration of the Spirit of God.

The Brackens are some of the most outstanding Christians I have met in my 36 years of travel and pastoring among the people of God.   They manifest Jesus in every way and their handling of the Chinese language is most commendable and inspiring.  Their children are a great asset to the work and in soul winning.  Simply a blessing that cannot be measured by earthly standards.

There was truly a 'Turning Point' in this meeting for Taiwan and the Asian community.  To God Be The Glory!!!

My personal THANKS to the great men of God who came from the area and the U.S. to assist in this most important of endeavors.  It was my supreme great pleasure to have worked with them.  What a Blessing!

Lee Stoneking
